New World supermarkets are already well-known in the local New Zealand market, but the client wanted to further enhance the entrance's nighttime appearance — giving the supermarket a visual presence after dark that matches its daytime recognition, attracting more passing vehicles and pedestrians to notice the store.

The client approached us wanting to improve nighttime visibility at the entrance without major construction. The solution was simple — hang a row of red-and-green candy cane motif lights along the underside of the entrance canopy, using the iconic festive design to draw attention to the entryway and make the supermarket easily identifiable from a distance at night.

Before installation, the entrance had weak nighttime presence, with lighting primarily functional and lacking any visual memorability. After installation, a row of candy cane motif lights lined up neatly along the entrance canopy, the red glow complementing the stripes, giving the entrance area a clear festive lighting identity and noticeably enhanced visibility.
